Last summer I had the pleasure of collaborating with Jovana and Boris on creating memorable moments during their intimate backyard wedding at Salas 137. They created a sophisticated country wedding in the backyard of a well-known Serbian hotel and restaurant. Natural surroundings were enhanced with grey, mint green and white details which were minimalistic but incredibly elegant.
Located a few kilometers from Novi Sad, Salas 137 offered a glimpse of the countryside escapism with its wide backyard and AltDeutsche style furniture. As usual, small details were the most important. Colorful chairs, wooden doors, watermelons, rustic signs, white roses, terracotta vases, paved tiles… It all created a real Vojvodinian experience.
Guests were welcomed while a string quartet was playing outside and it elevated this whole event to another level. We were all feeling like we are part of something truly romantic and special. Glasses were clinging, friends were hugging, and there were a lot of Instagrammable moments.
As dog owners, Jovana and Boris had the chance to bring their dog Nora to the wedding, and they allowed other pets at the wedding as well. Everyone was cuddling pets, while they ran freely around the venue like it is their own celebration.
High trees gave their guests much-needed shade during the daylight, and it helped me create one of their best photos. Jovana looked effortlessly chic in her modern dress with a crop top, and Boris looking secure and strong while holding her waist. Her bouquet was made by flower specialist Majestic Dreamer and it was an elegant mixture of white roses and symbolic poppy details.
We can all thank Flamboyant decorations for the eucalyptus leaves, candles, and beautifully arranged tables that were placed underneath the roof filled with sparkling lights. When night fell, everybody went inside and started dancing and enjoying the DJ set and cocktails with a lot of ice. After the DJ set, we had a chance to hear the local trap stars “The Backflash”, and eat amazing burgers from Toster Bar.
I would like to thank Jovana and Boris for having me as their intimate backyard wedding photographer, and I must say that I had a wonderful time, just as the regular guests.
